What is a Birth Doula?

A birth doula provides support during labor and birth.

Some of the support that doulas provide are (but not limited too) :

Pregnancy Education

Birth Preparation

Emotional Support

Home Support (Postpartum)

The main difference between doulas and medical professionals are doulas DO NOT preform medical task, procedures, and advice. Some examples are cervical checks, provides medications, etc…

The Benefits of having Doula Support are…

Lower chance of having a Cesarean. 1

More positive pregnancy and birth experience

Less medical Interventions
